2024 – September – Art3f Artfair Paris – France

The art fair in Paris at Art3f was nothing short of a success on all levels, and what many may not realize is that many of these fairs and artists live a lifestyle much like a traveling circus (myself included). A fair like this one took no more than about 2 hours for the roughly 175 galleries and artists to pack up, and afterwards, only paper and a few screws were left on the floor. By now, I’ve learned a few tricks myself, and one of them is to park upstairs, where there are fewer people and the lighting is quite nice for a “packing the car” picture.

We are now back home after a 13-hour drive covering 1200 km in one go, and after relaxing a bit today, the next focus point is the art fair: Kunst for Alle in Lokomotivhallen next weekend. After that, with 14-day intervals, there’s the art fair in Dortmund, the prison in Horsens, and finally the art fair in Brussels. I rest my case 😂 See you out there 👩‍🎨❤️

I am proud to announce that my Drip paintings are now on display at the prestigious Belart Gallery in Brussels. Their passion for art and dedication to promoting emerging artists make them the perfect match to showcase my art in Europe 👩‍🎨

So, I’ve landed in Brussels and managed to take the usual selfie with the Atomium in the background (plus a couple of successful (at least I think so) shots of said Atom 😊). Tomorrow morning, the hanging begins at 8 am, and the exhibition runs until 10 pm 💪🎨👩‍🎨❤️

PS Fun fact… here, the leaves on the trees haven’t completely fallen yet, and the time feels like it’s set back by 3 weeks compared to Danish nature time (12 degrees)

2023 – November- Fænglet – Horsens

What can I say about the Fængslet/Horsens Art Fair?It was more than just an art fair held in a prison; it was a fusion of creativity and history. The unique setting added depth to the experience, creating a vibrant atmosphere where art transcended boundaries. It wasn’t just about selling art; it was about connections, collaborations, and sharing stories. This event showed me that art isn’t limited by space—it can thrive in unexpected places, transforming them into canvases for expression. I’m grateful for the chance to showcase my work, but more so for the encounters, lessons, and inspiration gained. Huge thanks to the organizers and everyone involved

A FANTASTIC ART FAIR… 🇫🇷 in the city of cities is coming to an end… lots of interest, lots of business cards gone, and as something new, lots of selfies (Instagram) and “keeping the skin on the nose” economically… Now it’s time to pack the car, and in two weeks, there will be an art fair in Copenhagen at the Locomotive Hall; “Art for All,” which will be exciting, and most importantly, I don’t have to pretend that I know French

2023 -May – Lyon – France

“Hallo! We made it to Lyon after a 2-day drive through Germany and Luxembourg. We have arrived close to the place where I will be exhibiting this weekend at Halle Tony Garnier with Art3f. We now have 2 days to explore the city before the paintings are presented. On the way here, we stayed at a hotel near Bad Münstereifel, which is one of Germany’s most beautiful medieval towns. Highly recommended for an exotic weekend stay. To be continued…”

BRUXELL  ART3F  Oktober 2022

AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING..,

Well attended fair in Belgium/ Bruxell is finished, rarely have I handed out so many brochures and seen so many people take pictures of my works and show them interest! Thank you to my sweet neighbor at the trade fair stand, who turned out to be the talented Martin Boldsen and his sweet wife from Denmark and, in general, my colleagues from other countries with whom I struck up a conversation!

The sales this year were not at all up to last year and in general no one sold anything special at all and it is VERY clear that Belgium is affected by inflation and a thin wallet… pretty disturbing! However, I am happy about the enormous interest in my art and look forward to having a “Christmas break” and celebrating that I have been named employee of the year in my one-person company

USA SUPERFINE ART FAIR, LOS ANGELES,  November 2022

The last day at a fair, which was not at all what I expected! I ordered it last year, at Christmas time, when everyone was worried about corona and this was the only fair I could attend at this time/time of the year and be able to order it at the same time. I showed that it could be a challenge to come to an “underground” fair, based on the LGBT community (which only occurred to me after booking the fair) I don’t really care about people’s sexual orientation, but when it is said, it has left its mark on the fair. Good, because there is great diversity and an exciting audience, as well as participants. Too bad, because the purchasing power among the very young audience was not high! (I was at the expensive end at the fair) It should also be said that the taste in art (the bought) is not the same as in Europe…. Here you can clearly feel a big cultural difference! What in Europe is considered beautiful sophisticated art of high artisanal quality is not necessarily sold here (here I am not only thinking of myself, but a few of the other extremely talented artists from abroad who did not sell anything at all, even did I manage ok… but, not more than ok either ) ) (I’m speaking from my other experiences at fairs inland and Europe) What probably couldn’t be sold at a fair, let alone brought, is sold like hot cakes! An experience I have now gained and eliminates some dreams of participating in fairs far away, in for example Japan and so on. (For the time being…) First of all, it’s simply bad business at the moment, expenses will probably be higher than income, even with a good sale! (freight of the art itself is expensive and difficult and in addition there is the risk of being stopped at customs with your art and having to fill out papers and so on) In addition, taste in art is not universal!!!!!! which is an experience I have now gained Having said all this, this journey has been fantastic and fascinating!

ole hedeager + los angels+ superfine art fair +usa

I have become wiser about the world and its view of art in one of its outermost “corners”! And not least, I have become wiser about myself and my own art! I am full of new inspiration and appetite for and on my work as an artist, including the side of me that has to convey it! In that way, it has been worth all the money…., and, the thought is now inherent in me by such travel that if I could do this… well… then I can do anything…. (If I want to and there is sense in it!) Finally…. Stop it!! how grateful and humbled I am to be independent and had the opportunity to be able to go on such an art education journey (that’s how I perceive it!) I’m really happy about that….and to you out there who like, share, comment, buy and support… without you, it wouldn’t be possible… Thank you!!! (A special thank you must be given to Bent, who has helped more than you could expect and to my sweet wife, who is my best friend and advisor)
